While I personally dislike worksheets I do think that they do have a place in the classroom. They can be useful assessment tools provided they are well written and they can be used to keep the class on track while you work with single students. You have clarified the statement by saying ‘all the time’ but I think worksheets have earned an unfair stigma. Yes shun badly written worksheets, yes shun worksheets as busy work but do not simply shun them because of the stigma, If used effectively worksheets can be extremely effective. In all our uni classes we are constantly given worksheets and using worksheets!
And meh I’ll do it later, while I agree the attitude behind it is wrong I do think that if there is sufficient time ‘later’ then it is perfectly valid to delay doing something.
